ISOMATIC Integrative Health Centre — Woodbridge
Physiotherapy in Vaughan & Woodbridge
Pain that keeps coming back needs more than a quick fix. It needs a clear picture of why it started. At ISOMATIC in Woodbridge, physiotherapy starts with a careful assessment, then builds a plan around what that assessment shows — hands-on care, guided exercise, and practical steps you can use between visits, so you can move better and get back to the life you want.

Ankit Patel — Registered Physiotherapist
Ankit Patel, H.BscKin, MPT, MCPA, is a Registered Physiotherapist and Co-Founder & Clinic Director at ISOMATIC. He leads physiotherapy at our Woodbridge clinic in Vaughan, helping people with back pain, neck pain, sports injuries and other movement problems get back to work, sport and everyday life.
Ankit’s approach is assessment first: understand how you move, what is limiting you, and what is realistic for your life, then build a plan around that — not a generic exercise sheet. View Ankit’s profile.
Assessment first, then treatment
Every physiotherapy plan at ISOMATIC Vaughan starts the same way: we listen, we assess, and only then do we treat. That way your care is built on what we actually find, not on a guess about the spot that hurts.
1. Your history
When the pain started, what makes it better or worse, and what you need to get back to — work, sport, sleep, or simply moving through your day without thinking about it.
2. How you move
Strength, flexibility, balance and everyday movement, checked in person, so we can see what is working well and what needs support.
3. Hands-on care and exercise
Treatment and guided exercise matched to what the assessment showed, with clear coaching on how to do each movement well.
4. A plan you can follow
What we found, what to do next, and how we will know it is working, explained in plain language before you commit to anything.
What physiotherapy can help with
Physiotherapy can help with pain, stiffness and movement problems that affect daily life — whether the problem started suddenly, built up over time, or keeps returning after other treatment.
Back pain
Low back pain and stiffness that make sitting, standing, lifting or sleeping harder than they should be.
Neck pain
Neck pain and tension, including pain linked to desk work, driving and poor sleep.
Shoulder pain
Shoulder pain and limited reach, including pain with lifting, reaching overhead or throwing.
Knee and hip pain
Knee and hip pain that affects walking, stairs, squatting or getting up from a chair.
Sports and overuse injuries
Strains, sprains and overuse injuries, with a gradual return to training and sport.
Stiffness and reduced mobility
Stiffness and lost movement after injury, inactivity or a long period of sitting.

What a first visit looks like
- Talk. We go through your history together — your pain, your health, and the activities that matter most to you.
- Assess. Ankit checks how you move, your strength and flexibility, and the area that hurts, so your plan has a clear starting point.
- Treat and practise. Your first visit may include hands-on treatment and guided exercise, with coaching so you know exactly what to do at home.
- Leave with a plan. You leave knowing what we found, what your next steps are, and when we will check your progress.
Wear comfortable clothing that lets you move, and bring a list of any medications you take and any previous reports or imaging you already have, if you have them. Most first visits take about an hour — come with questions, and expect straight answers.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No. You can book physiotherapy directly, without a referral. If your extended health plan asks for one, check with your insurer before your visit.
What should I wear to my first visit?
Comfortable clothing that lets you move freely. If the problem is in your shoulder, a sleeveless or loose top helps; for a knee or hip problem, shorts are useful.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the problem, how long it has been there, and how you respond to treatment. After your first assessment, Ankit will explain what he expects, what your part of the plan looks like, and how you will know it is working.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and Manual Osteopathy?
Physiotherapy focuses on assessment, hands-on treatment, guided exercise and returning you to the activities you want to do. Manual Osteopathy takes a hands-on approach to the body as a whole. Many people use both, at different times, for different problems — see physiotherapy vs Manual Osteopathy for a closer look.
