A closer look at each area
Muscle tension and stiffness. Tension can build through desk work, repetitive movement, or periods of stress. A session can focus on the areas that feel tight, using pressure adjusted to your comfort, so the area can feel less guarded and more mobile.
Back, neck and shoulder pain. These areas often carry strain from posture, lifting, or sleeping positions. Treatment may focus on the muscles around the shoulders, upper back, and neck, as well as related areas that contribute to stiffness, guided by the movements you find most restricted.
Trigger point therapy. Trigger point work focuses on specific areas of muscle tenderness that can feel tight or refer discomfort to nearby areas. Daniel Galano works slowly through these areas, checking pressure and comfort as he goes, and adjusting the session to your response on the day. Tell him where tenderness is strongest, and whether pressure feels too light, too firm, or about right, so the work stays within a range you can tolerate.
Lymphatic drainage. Lymphatic drainage uses light, gentle pressure and slow, rhythmic movements, rather than deep pressure. The session is planned around the areas you identify and your comfort, with time for the therapist to explain what is happening and to check how you are feeling. It is a quieter, gentler style of session, and it can suit people who prefer a lighter touch or who are sensitive to firmer work.
Sports and overuse injuries. Repeated training or a sudden increase in activity can leave muscles feeling sore or tight. Sessions can focus on the muscle groups used most in your activity, with attention to recovery between sessions. Tell your therapist about your training, recent injuries, and upcoming events so the session can be planned around them.
What to expect at your first massage therapy visit
Your first visit with Daniel Galano usually begins with a brief assessment. He will ask about your health history, the areas you would like addressed, what makes symptoms better or worse, and your goals for the session. This conversation helps shape the plan for the visit, including pressure, positioning, and which areas to focus on.
Treatment follows the assessment plan and is adjusted as the session goes on. Your therapist will check in about pressure and comfort, and you are welcome to speak up at any time. Sessions are tailored to your needs on the day, so the same plan is not repeated without considering how you feel at that visit.
Before you leave, you may receive home-care guidance to support the session. This may include general movement, stretching, rest, or simple self-care ideas that fit your routine, discussed in the context of your session.

Frequently asked questions
Is massage therapy covered by insurance? Many extended health plans cover registered massage therapy services, and receipts are provided for claims. Coverage varies by plan, so check your plan details before booking.
How long are sessions? Sessions are booked by length at booking. Choose the length that fits your goals and schedule, and discuss timing with your therapist at your visit.
What should I wear, and how should I prepare? Wear comfortable clothing and arrive a few minutes early so the assessment is not rushed. Your therapist will explain draping and positioning, and you can ask questions at any point. Let the clinic know in advance if you have any health concerns that may affect the session.
Can I ask for lighter or firmer pressure? Yes. Pressure is adjusted to your comfort throughout the session. Tell your therapist during the assessment or at any point during treatment if you would like the pressure changed.
